The United States has made significant progress in negotiations with Ukraine and Russia in recent days, said U.S. President Donald Trump.
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office at the White House, Trump once again expressed optimism about the end of the war, emphasizing that his team has made substantial progress recently.
“I’ll tell you, we’ve made great progress with Ukraine and great progress with Russia in the last few days, and it would be great to bring this war to an end,” Trump said.
He added that a quick resolution to the war would mean “we don’t have to talk about it in that way anymore, about nuclear weapons,” referring to a recent statement by French President Emmanuel Macron about the possibility of extending nuclear protection to European allies.
“It would be great if everyone got rid of nuclear weapons,” Trump concluded.
