Today, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz declared that Israel will do to Tehran what it "did to Hamas in the Gaza Strip."
In that vein, he continued: "I warn the Iranian leaders who finance, arm and exploit the Houthi terrorist organization: the axis of evil has collapsed," Katz said in a statement, four days after Yemeni Houthi rebels, allied with Iran, launched an attack on Tel Aviv airport.
"You are directly responsible," Katz told Iranian leaders.
He added that Israel will do to Tehran what it did to the Lebanese Islamist movement Hezbollah in Beirut, the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip, and Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad in Damascus.
In response to a Houthi rocket attack on Israel's main international airport on Sunday, the Israeli military carried out strikes on the airport in Yemen's capital, Sanaa, regional power plants and factories this week.
The Houthis, along with Hamas and Hezbollah, are part of what Tehran describes as an "axis of resistance" to Israel. Iran, however, denies providing them with military assistance.
