Kosovo President Claims Serbia Carried Out Actions on Kosovo Border in May

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani stated today that Serbia carried out actions on the Kosovo border in May and that security institutions informed her about it, after which she contacted allies.

During a recent visit to Washington, Osmani confirmed statements by US President Donald Trump that he had prevented a possible escalation from Serbia to Kosovo in recent weeks.

"Immediately after receiving this information, I had meetings with security institutions that report to me as president. We made sure that every institution in Kosovo was adequately mobilized to defend the country," she said at a press conference in Pristina.

Osmani said that some of the information was confidential, but that it was shared with allies in order to prevent escalation.

"I assure the citizens of Kosovo that there is no reason for concern or panic, because our institutions are up to the task when it comes to protecting the borders and the security of all our citizens. Threats from Serbia are continuous, but our institutions have everything under control," said the Kosovo President.
