President and founder Mirsad Jahović addressed an open letter to Montenegrins in the homeland and the world and informed them about the reasons for the closure of the association “Cetinje”.
We are transmitting his address in its entirety:
To the Montenegrin public and Montenegrins in exile,
My dear Montenegrins, although it has been operating continuously for almost 25 years, and during its work and existence it has had numerous obstacles and obstructions, unfortunately the moment has come when we must admit first of all to ourselves, and then to the entire Montenegrin public and its diaspora, that we are closing down. The association “Cetinje” -USA was a bastion and promoter of all things Montenegrin for a quarter of a century. Our contribution to the referendum campaign and hundreds of thousands of dollars collected for various projects in the country, as well as humanitarian actions, were not enough for the state of Montenegro, its institutions, both in the past and today, to be our partners. Unfortunately, it was precisely from these institutions, which were once led by DPS cadres, and today by pro-fascist coalitions gathered around the anti-Christian sect called the Serbian Orthodox Church, that they did everything they could to shut down the “Cetinje” Association. And they succeeded in their common plan. During the rule of the DPS, the famous Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Diplomatic and Consular Representations contained cadres who cared only about personal and party interests. The welfare of Montenegro and its diaspora, and the connection of emigrants with the Motherland, was not an imperative for them, although they received substantial appanage from the budget of the citizens of Montenegro for this very purpose. Their mouths were full of Montenegro, its sons and daughters both in the country and abroad, and at the same time their hands were in the state treasury from which they ruthlessly amassed funds illegally.
After them came the same ones, only more specific in their evil intentions, because since 2020, the new ones have been paying for their anti-state ventures with the money of the citizens of Montenegro. With the obvious illegal spending of money, not to mention the robbery of Montenegro, they are doing everything to the detriment of Montenegro. Their only goal is to bring Montenegro to its knees and make its existence meaningless, all for the interests of Serbia and Russia. Their orderlies in Belgrade and Moscow have been shedding the blood of innocents for 3 decades, the Serbian Church is training them in methods and poisoning the public with lies and manipulations in the name of God, and the executors gathered in the ruling coalition in Montenegro are unquestioningly carrying out their orders. Their goal is to destroy everything Montenegrin, and if possible, physically liquidate all Montenegrins.
Thus, both of them, each out of their own selfish interests, came across the Association "Cetinje" USA as one of the obstacles on their sinister paths and tried in every way to shut us down. They tried to discredit us, they invented lies, they planted false patriots in order to destroy us from within. For 25 years they have not succeeded, we have resisted. Unfortunately, we can no longer. As of today, the Association "Cetinje" does not exist and ceases its work. We hope that soon a patriotic group will be formed in the homeland and abroad, which will gather around itself sincere patriots, and who will send to the dustbin of history all those who have so far carried the banner and worked to the detriment of Montenegro and Montenegrins.
Montenegro is eternal!
