Authorities have arrested a driver from Bosnia and Herzegovina after discovering 138 kilograms of ultra-pure cocaine in his vehicle, in what investigators describe as a major blow to international drug trafficking networks.
The seizure took place during a routine inspection, when officers uncovered the drugs concealed inside specially modified compartments of the vehicle. Preliminary estimates put the street value of the cocaine at around €15 million, highlighting the scale of the operation.
Law enforcement officials believe the suspect was acting as part of a wider criminal network involved in transporting narcotics across borders. The unusually high purity of the cocaine suggests it was intended for further processing and distribution across multiple European markets.
The driver was taken into custody and is expected to face serious charges related to large-scale drug trafficking. Investigators are now working to trace the origin of the shipment and identify other individuals linked to the operation.
Authorities described the arrest as one of the most significant cocaine seizures involving a suspect from Bosnia and Herzegovina in recent years, warning that organized crime groups continue to adapt their smuggling methods despite increased border controls.
