AUTHOR:M.J. GDNUS

The world's oldest man has died at the age of 112, his family has confirmed.

John Alfred Tinniswood died on Monday at a nursing home in Southport where he lived.

The lifelong Liverpool football fan became the world's oldest living man in April this year, when Juan Vicente Pérez Mora died at the age of 114, the BBC reports.

The family said John Tinniswood's last day was "surrounded by music and love".

Tinniswood, who was born the same year the Titanic sank, on August 26, 1912, became the oldest man in the UK in 2020.

He was declared the world's oldest man by Guinness World Records in April 2024.
