AUTHOR: M.J. GDNUS

The President of the Bosniak Democratic Movement (BDP), Sead Šahman, sent congratulations on the occasion of September 28, the International Bosniak Day, to all members of the Bosniak people in Montenegro, the countries of the region, and throughout the world in the diaspora.

"As a reminder, 31 years ago in besieged Sarajevo on September 27 and 28, 1993, a Bosniak assembly was held whose decisions determined the fate of our nation," Šahman said.

This is one of the most significant dates for the Bosniak people, which is celebrated on the occasion of the adopted Declaration on the return of the traditional national name Bosniak.

"Bosniaks' efforts have always been good-neighborly with an expressed willingness to build a society of diversity. Preservation of our national identity remains imperative for both current and future generations," Šahman concluded in a congratulatory message posted on his Facebook profile.
