Balandžić: I sing the national anthem, I don't silence it!

AUTHOR:M.J. GDNUS

RTCG employee Slavica Balandžić addressed the public after, as she claims, she became the victim of a media campaign.

Recall that just before the Montenegro - Iceland match in the B League of Nations, the sound disappeared during the intonation of the Montenegrin anthem "Oj svijetla majska zoro". Because of this, the management of the Public Service Broadcasting Company issued a statement and announced that those responsible would be suspended.

We are reproducing Balandžić's address in its entirety:

"Dear citizens,

Given that I have been the victim of a media campaign since Saturday evening (November 16), I feel the need to speak out publicly, especially because the situation is becoming politicized and I feel threatened, because my target has already been drawn.

My name is Slavka (Slavica) Balandžić. I have been working at RTCG for 28 years, as a program producer.

I was suspected, accused and in the end I was sentenced, without disciplinary proceedings. Only today, after two days, did I receive a decision on my punishment, without disciplinary proceedings.

Because of my personal and professional reputation, because of the reputation of my family and the numerous colleagues I work with at RTCG, I must say what everyone who knows me knows, which is that I AM NOT GUILTY, nor would I under any circumstances jeopardize my integrity or that of TVCG, where I have worked for so many years.

I am only doing my job and I have never thought, let alone done anything against RTCG, its management and the state of Montenegro!

My political beliefs and national feelings cannot and must not be used in this process.

Finally, I am obliged to say the following:

I SING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM, I DO NOT SILENCE IT!!!"
