Božović: Educators who are on strike are the target of unprecedented pressure and intimidation

AUTHOR: M.J.
Despite the unprecedented pressure and intimidation towards the educators who are on strike, we inform the public that during today's day classes were suspended in 138 institutions, said the president of the Education Union, Radomir Božović.
As he stated, in some institutions classes were held partially, with a small number of employees who are not on strike.
Please note that school principals, following instructions from MPNI, held sessions of Teachers' Councils late last night or early this morning with the sole aim of having the principals count us and indicate that we can be fired. To intimidate us - added Božović.
He also said that in some schools, such as JU Elementary School "Mexico" from Bar and others, the number of employees on strike dropped from 44 to 4, which, he says, speaks of intimidation.
In some schools, principals and assistants held classes, were strikebreakers, in order to send a report that classes in their institutions were taking place according to the established schedule. Also, they threaten us with the Decree from 2006, which completely prohibits strikes in education. Fortunately for the employees, that number of directors, who are trying to suppress the strike and the right of educators to justice and dignity, is very small. Unfortunately, instead of negotiating seriously, MPNI is trying to force us into classrooms and show that everything is in the best order in education. Colleagues, we can only defend our right to a dignified life and a dignified vocation together and unitedly - said Božović in the announcement.
