Minister of Justice Bojan Božović issued a decision allowing the extradition of Do Kwon to the United States of America.
"The Minister of Justice issued a decision allowing the extradition of the defendant Kwon Do Hyeong to the USA. The Supreme Court of Montenegro previously issued a judgment determining that the conditions prescribed by law for the extradition of Kwon Do Hyeong have been met upon the extradition request of the competent authorities of the Republic of Korea and the extradition request of the competent authorities of the United States of America.
Taking into account the judgment of the Supreme Court, the Ministry of Justice considered all facts and circumstances and assessed criteria such as the gravity of the criminal offenses, the place of commission, the order in which the request was submitted, the citizenship of the requested person, the possibility of further extradition to another country, as well as other circumstances," the Ministry of Justice stated.
Considering the above, they add, it was concluded that most of the criteria provided for by law support the extradition request of the competent authorities of the United States of America, and the Minister of Justice issued a decision allowing the extradition of Kwon Do Hyeong to the United States of America, while at the same time refusing extradition to the Republic of Korea.
