The brother of the murdered Jovan and Milenka Madžgalj, Velibor Madžgalj, is surprised and outraged by the statement of the head of the Regional Security Center "North" and the Bijelo Polje Security Department, Haris Đurđević, before the local parliament members about the security situation in that city.
Đurđević said that on the day of the murder of Jovan and Milenka Madžgalj in the village of Sokolac, on October 25 last year, he received notification that only one citizen had filed a complaint against Balijagić, and that later an internal check determined that there were two more.
"I don't understand what he's saying! How did he deserve the support of the Minister of Police Danilo Šaranović and the Director of Police Lazar Šćepanović? Just as they protect him, Đurđević protected Balijagić. And not only him, but also some of his other associates from the Bijelo Polje OB, and perhaps even beyond," Madžgalj told "Dan".
He is asking Đurđević to answer the question of who released Balijagić after he was arrested for breaking into Bulatović's house, from where he stole a rifle.
"Who made the decision to guard the three houses of Bulatović, Hadžajlić and Bošković for fear of reprisals? Was Đurđević on sick leave from September 18 to October 25, when the double murder occurred? How did he find out that the murder had occurred? Who did not allow the prosecutor to arrive on time, who did not allow the ambulance to go, to see if my brother and sister were alive? Does Đurđević have the daily bulletin from October 21, when there was a chase for Balijagić in the towns of Ujniče and Mioče, when citizens saw him in several places, and how did it happen that the police patrol let him escape then?" asks the brother of the murdered Madžgalja.
He also demands an explanation as to why the security departments in the surrounding towns were not informed about everything that was happening.
"I ask that Đurđević show the report from October 24, when the murderer was seen sitting in a house in Sokolac. I also ask that he show the statements of the members of the police patrol on the day of the murder at around 12:30. Who returned them then and on whose orders" are the questions that Velibor Madžgalj is seeking answers to, writes Dan.
