Cetinje resident Jelena Radonjić: I have absolutely nothing to do with the unfortunate event in front of the temple in Podgorica

AUTHOR:M.J. GDNUS

Cetinje resident Jelena Radonjić addressed the public because, as she claims, her personality was brought into the context of the unfortunate event in front of the Temple of the Resurrection of Christ in Podgorica.

She claims that social media users, commenting on the text on the portals, made untrue, malicious, offensive comments, which made her and her family feel threatened.

We are publishing the reaction in its entirety:

"I am Jelena Krstova Radonjić from Cetinje and I would like to clearly state that I have absolutely nothing to do with the unfortunate event that occurred last night in front of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Podgorica.

Unfortunately, some media outlets, contrary to professional standards and common journalistic practice, published the full name and surname of the perpetrator without additional clarification, which led to serious confusion and triggered a wave of unprovoked hate speech directed at me, especially on social networks.

I am addressing the public because of the numerous inconveniences I have suffered, as well as the large number of calls I have received. The whole situation has deeply disturbed me, and additional stress and concern have also been felt by my family members.

I sincerely hope that this extremely unpleasant and inhuman example will serve as a warning - both to media workers about the necessity of responsible and professional reporting, and to social media users to think before they expose someone to lynching and condemnation, putting themselves, at least on the moment, to the position I'm in now."
