Cetinje tells MPs: You will not move us from Kruševo Ždrijelo with any punishment

AUTHOR:M.J. GDNUS

Citizens of Cetinje, who have been organizing roadblocks for months at Kruševo Ždrijelo between Cetinje and Podgorica, today reacted to the announcement of legal changes on public gatherings.

As a reminder, residents of the Royal Capital are protesting, demanding answers from the authorities after two serious tragedies in that city, in which 23 people were killed.

Below we present the reaction of the citizens of Cetinje:

"'Dear proponents', first of all you dared to identify the character of the road blockades, and you equate us who are seeking justice for the 23 killed and 10 wounded, with road blockades due to the passage of locals through the tunnel, personal incomes, endangered animal species that cause problems for locals and their blockades, and the like. We must admit that neither the motive, nor the character, nor the severity of the blockades are the same, not wanting to belittle any protest or the people on them.

First of all, we are fully aware that the proposal to amend the law is directed directly against the people of Cetinje, namely Kruševo Ždrijelo. Of course not for the sake of service to the citizens in the column, but because we remind you every day of the danger of liability. In this case, the responsibility for the 23 human lives of the ten wounded is enormous.

On this occasion, we would like to say to the proponents and the deputies themselves, if you want to create conditions for a pleasant trip to Montenegro, to first of all take care of the road infrastructure and similar things that can be measured in the proposed euros. We are sure that in addition to some people escaping responsibility for the dead Cetinje residents, with this bill you are also belittling them, putting a price on their heads.

We say to the Parliament of Montenegro that you will not humiliate us with the Kruševo Ždrijelo with the amount of fines, but bring justice to the face of Montenegro.

Gentlemen, vote in accordance with the honor and dignity that you pledged in your election campaigns, and we apologize once again to all the stopped drivers and their passengers, convinced that they know that the problem is not with us, but with the accountability system that is obviously not working," they concluded.
