Currently active fires in Piperi

The fight against fires in Montenegro continues.

Fires are active in Podgorica, Danilovgrad, Nikšić, Bijelo Polje. The fire in Tuzi has been brought under control.

A helicopter from the Czech Republic has arrived in Montenegro.

The Montenegrin Army, locals and members of local businesses are helping to extinguish the fire. Several suspects for arson have been arrested in recent days. Yesterday, soldier Dejan Božović was buried after a water tanker overturned in Kuči, where soldiers were helping to extinguish the flames. His colleague Marko Iković was seriously injured, after which he underwent surgery at the Clinical Center and is now stable.

Currently, fires are active in Piperi - Gornje Mrke, Radeća and Seoce, where, in addition to local firefighters and Montenegrin soldiers, rescuers from Austria and Switzerland are also engaged.

11.00 Fires are active in several locations in Tuzi, no structures are at risk

Fires in the Tuzi municipality are still burning, confirmed to Portal Analitika by the municipal inspector of the Communal Police and Communal Inspection, Robert Ljekočaj.

"The situation is currently stable. Last night, vegetation was burning in the village of Koder Budan, but the fire was extinguished with the quick intervention of firefighters," says Ljekočaj.

He further states that fires are currently active in the villages of Drume and Vitoja and the village of Tojić.

"A helicopter is also extinguishing the fire in the village of Tojeć. It was extinguishing it at that location yesterday as well," Ljekočaj told us.

Firefighters from Budva also came to the aid of the firefighters and members of the Communal Police and Communal Inspection of Tuzi.

"In the village of Drume, locals also helped us, they put out the fire from our backpacks," says Ljekočaj.

A fire is still burning in the village of Toplovo, above Danilovgrad, the Protection and Rescue Service confirmed to the Analitika portal.

"The fire in Toplovo is active, we have been defending weekend houses for a couple of days. Most of the forest has burned down," the Danilovgrad Protection and Rescue Service told us this morning.

Yesterday, Danilovgrad firefighters also had help from the air.

"A Hungarian helicopter arrived yesterday and was extinguishing the fire, we are expecting it today"; the Protection and Rescue Service told us.

07.07 Critical in Piperi

Another difficult night for firefighters. It was critical in Piperi, where firefighters spent hours defending houses from the fiery elements.

The fire is still burning in that area.

"The area of Stijena Piperske is the most endangered , Ožega, Seoc and Dubrava," said the Vice President of the Capital City Assembly, Dragutin Vučinić.

Vučinić explained that in the hamlet of Kula Markovića, which is located between Radeća and the rest of Stijena piperska, through which the main road passes through Stijena, there are houses located around the road.

He explained that the fire threatens numerous houses in that hamlet.

"Please, for the action of helicopters or canards to put this out as well. Only then will locals and volunteers be able to enter and put out the fire with backpacks," Vučinić appealed.

Readers of the Analitika portal report that it was also critical in Bioča during the night. The fire in that settlement came close to the houses.

07.00 Several fires in Bijelo Polje

Several fires broke out yesterday in the territory of Bijelo Polje.

In the village of Osoja - Pozk at around 13:50, firefighters received a report that there had been a fire, confirmed to Portal Analitika the commander of the Protection and Rescue Service in Bijelo Polje, Edin Kolić.

"The forest was burning, houses were also threatened. Three firefighters with one vehicle were sent to the field," said Kolić.

They soon received a report of another fire, around 14:00 it was reported that it was burning in the village of Zuber.
