Darko Buzov, son of a man who could not remain silent, has passed away

SOURCE: ANTENA M – AUTHOR: M.J. GDNUS

Darko Buzov, son of Tomo Buzov, a man who could not remain silent, has passed away. The only son passed away yesterday, on the day 32 years ago when his father, driven solely by his own sense of justice, stood up for the innocent - and lost his life for it.

Tomo Buzov, a retired JNA officer, was one of twenty passengers kidnapped from the Belgrade - Bar train in Štrpci in 1993. However, unlike the others, he was not a target of the criminal paramilitary formation Osvetnici.

His name and surname were not "wrong". He chose to stand with those who were marked and was killed for it.

Croatian director Nebojša Slijepčević made a short feature film based on his story, which is in competition for the most prestigious Oscar award.
