DPS: Is Šćekić's statement regarding the resolution on Srebrenica the official position of the Government of Montenegro?

AUTHOR: M.J.
Today, the public once again had the opportunity to see in which direction the official state policy of the Government of Montenegro is headed, through the statement of Vice President Dragoslav Šćekić, who announced that he would vote against Montenegro's support of the resolution on Srebrenica in the UN, said the Democratic Party. socialists (DPS).

From that party, they stated that since Prime Minister Milojko Spajić has not yet expressed a precise position on this issue, it is clear that this statement can be interpreted as the official position of the current Government of Montenegro.

We invite Prime Minister Spajić to finally make up his mind against the scandalous statement of Deputy Prime Minister Vlada Šćekić and to tell us whether he also believes that we should not "open up topics that are behind us" and whether he also believes that "Montenegro should have good relations with everyone in the region", and is he, as his vice-president, "surprised that the topic of Srebrenica is brought up in the United Nations or anywhere"? - it is written in the press release of the DPS.

It's high time, as they say, for Spajić to say whether the silence about Srebrenica is a lack of political courage to communicate a position or behind it is the fear that it will not be interpreted as disobedience to your financiers and political elders.

- Prime Minister Spajić, Vice-President Šćekić, we will help you: genocide did happen in Srebrenica. This was said by the court in The Hague and the International Court of Justice, which ruled that the RS army and police were perpetrators of genocide. However, despite all the facts and evidence, every day in the public space, for years, we hear scandalous statements. Until recently, they came from officials of other countries, today they come from officials of our country - they added.

They also said that the data of the Hague International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Courts indicate that there were about 8,000 victims in Srebrenica, while 30,000 women and children were forcibly relocated.

- In the court proceedings for Srebrenica, it was established that the victims were civilians or prisoners of war. Evidence shows that most of the victims were not killed in battle but during mass executions, and that blindfolds and material for hand binding were found in the mass graves. The judgments of the Hague and domestic courts declared individuals guilty of genocide, not collectives, states or entities - said the DPS.
