The Seismology Sector of the Institute for Hydrometeorology and Seismology registered a minor earthquake today at 2:39 p.m. with an epicenter 12 kilometers southeast of Vladimir in the border area of Montenegro and Albania.
The Institute notes that the intensity of this earthquake at the hypocenter (focus) was four units on the Richter scale, which corresponds to an epicentral intensity of V degrees on the Mercalli scale (MCS).
The focus of this earthquake was located at a depth of 15 km.
"Based on the numerical model of the change in intensity with distance in this region, the magnitude of the earthquake and the depth of the hypocenter, this earthquake could not have caused material damage in the epicentral area," the ZHMS statement said.
