Members of the European Parliament today adopted the European Parliament's report on the European Commission's annual reports on Montenegro for 2023 and 2024 in Strasbourg.
Marjan Šarec, the European Parliament's standing rapporteur for Montenegro, said that Montenegro's clear commitment to its path towards the EU is visible.
"The report notes that Montenegro remains the leading candidate in the enlargement process and that it has managed to maintain high public support for EU membership, which in some areas reaches up to 80 percent," Šarec said, according to Cdm.
It is also important, he added, that both coalition and opposition parties cooperated in passing the necessary legislation.
"This shows a high level of awareness that for Montenegro the European path is the only correct one - there is no alternative," Šarec said.
