Fajon: There is a great threat of freezing the EU negotiations if the sixth attempt to complete the Constitutional Court fails

Today we discussed the chances of the efficiency of the Constitutional Court, which is very important for the efficiency of institutions in Montenegro and of course for the elections that will follow, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of Slovenia Tanja Fajon after the meeting with the President of the Assembly Danijela Đurović.

She said that she spoke with Jozep Borel and Aleksandar Šalenberg, with whom, on Borel's order, she spoke in December about the fact that there is a big crisis in Montenegro and warned that the functionality of the Constitutional Court is a priority.

I am satisfied that the procedure has been restarted and I hope that before the 23rd, when I will give the report to the ministers, I will have some more good news - she said.

She said that she has a good feeling today.

And I hope that everyone is politically aware of how important the Constitutional Court is because of the presidential and likely extraordinary parliamentary elections - emphasized Fajon.

When asked if freezing the negotiations is an option if the Constitutional Court is not trained, she said that if this sixth attempt to complete it fails, there is a strong possibility that the accession negotiations will be stopped.

We are here today to extend a hand, and it is up to the political entities to shake that hand - said Fajon.
