Huter: Police helped Mandić in institutionalizing chauvinism

AUTHOR:M.J. GDNUS

Last night, at a protest near Vila Gorica, the Montenegrin police helped the President of the Parliament Andrija Mandić in institutionalizing chauvinism and shaming July 13, said Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) MP Oskar Huter.

At a protest held last night near Vila Gorica, on the occasion of the awarding of the July 13th Prize to writer Bećir Vuković, the police and citizens clashed twice.

At a press conference of the DPS MPs' Club, Huter said that the police intervened in a shameful and brutal manner in relation to citizens who were peacefully protesting, among whom were a large number of intellectuals, as well as elderly citizens, of all religions and nationalities.

“Last night, the Montenegrin police assisted Serbian citizen Andrija Mandić in the institutionalization of chauvinism and the shaming of July 13, which is the sole goal of the Chetnik voivode, who with every action wants to humiliate and disempower everything Montenegrin,” said Huter.

He emphasized that Montenegro has no brighter and holier date than July 13.

“Thus, the Montenegrin police last night became an accomplice in a sinister plot and directly subordinated themselves to other people's interests, the perpetrator of which is Mandić, standing against his own citizens,” Huter stated.

He said that last night, the police “battered, sprayed and sprayed tear gas and pepper spray on citizens, so that Mandić could enjoy the Greater Serbian feast.”

Huter said "that during the massacre in Medovina, several police officers were guarding the priests and that they did not care about the lives of the children, who were killed only 50 meters away from them".

According to him, the same thing happened on January 1st of this year, when 13 people were killed in more than five hours.

"After that, it became clear to everyone that the Montenegrin police are not interested in the lives of citizens, and last night, as on September 5th at Belvedere, we saw that they are not interested in the Constitution or the dignity of Montenegro", said Huter.

He stated "that last night the police only defended the shame that took place in Villa Gorica".

"The scandal from last night is the best confirmation that the vetting we are hearing about is only a process in which a party police should be formed which, following the example of Vučić's regime, will be the truncheon of the government, through which they will deal with dissenters", said Huter.

He told those who ordered the intervention last night that what they had planned would not work.

"Montenegro will know how to resist this plan and stop the systematic humiliation of the state. We will defend and defend the dignity of our history. We will defend a civil and European Montenegro and defeat the evil that has befallen us," said Huter.

He stated that Montenegro is made up of everyone - free individuals, civil activists, political parties, non-governmental organizations, intellectuals and free media.

Asked to comment on the fact that stones were thrown at the police officers from the crowd and whether he was sure that tear gas was used, Huter said that he was not an expert enough to know what all the means were used.

"If you were there, then you must have a bitter taste in your throat this morning. I don't want to claim that it was tear gas, because I'm not sure, but I can show you my body, which is full of burns, and I don't know what's on it, I didn't go to the doctor," Huter said.

He pointed out that it is untrue that there were attacks on the police.

"That is untrue, the police attacked citizens, citizens' basic constitutional right - freedom of movement - was restricted. Citizens protested and defended the state," Huter said.
