Immediately after the last notification by the veterinary inspection about the occurrence of disease among animals in two more farms in the municipality of Danilovgrad, the teams of the Institute went to the field and, in accordance with their competences, performed blood sampling of the exposed persons, the Institute for Public Health (IJZ) announced. .
"Serological results in two exposed persons indicate infection with the causative agent of Q fever. "Both persons, at the time of testing, did not report any complaints, but stated that in the previous month they had symptoms corresponding to this disease," the IJZ announced.
They also state that Q fever in humans is a disease that must be reported (according to the legal regulations of our country), surveillance is carried out continuously and individual cases of disease among humans are registered every year.
