Another difficult day in the fight against fires throughout Montenegro.
The Directorate for Protection and Rescue announced that fires are currently active in the municipalities of Podgorica, Bar, Budva, Nikšić, Šavnik and Bijelo Polje.
In the territory of the municipality of Podgorica, fires are active in the locations of Piper, Kakaricka gora, Smokovac, Rogami and Doljani.
Fires are localized in the territory of the municipalities of Budva and Bar - in the places of Kufin, Buljarica, Čanj, but the situation is still being monitored because new flare-ups are possible.
While extinguishing the fire in Kuči, soldier Dejan Božović from Danilovgrad died, while Marko Iković suffered serious injuries. August 14 has been declared a Day of Mourning.
The Canadians sent to Montenegro by Croatia and Italy through the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism have returned after providing assistance, and a helicopter from Hungary has been announced for tomorrow.

The Bar Security Department's emergency service was reported today at around 11:30 a.m. that a fire had broken out in the town of Zaljevo, which had affected low vegetation. Immediately upon receiving the report, members of the Protection and Rescue Service were sent to the scene and localized the fire.
"Regarding the above-mentioned event, the State Prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bar was notified, and upon his order an on-site investigation was carried out.
Based on the numerous criminal and operational activities undertaken, police officers quickly identified and subsequently located a Kosovo citizen, S.L. (38), who was brought to the premises of the Bar Security Department to collect information.
