Martinović: Perović was arrested because she used the official car more than SDT believes she should have

SOURCE-POBJEDA
The Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) did not announce the specific actions by which the director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK) Jelena Perović abused her official position, and as her lawyer Nikola Martinović said in a statement to Pobjeda, it seems that Perović was prosecuted because she used an official car more than in SDT they think it should have been.
They didn't say she abused her position for this or that. During the search, they confiscated the warrants, took pictures of the mileage on the vehicle and confiscated documents that had already been handed over to the prosecutor's office, and related to kilometers traveled or trips - announced Martinović Pobjeda.
His well-founded conclusion, he points out, is that it all boils down to the position of the prosecution that Perović abused her official position by using the car more than she should have. However, it also indicates that nowhere is it prescribed how much the official car should be used.
It all boils down to whether she traveled more or less - underlined Martinović.
A performance
When Pobjeda asked why the Special Police Department (SPO) was dealing with this case, he replied that he thought it was a show.
They are trying to create the impression that she is some kind of criminal, and nothing was found in that search - Martinović is explicit.
As he said, SPO officers searched the offices and the private apartment of Perović, and they did not take anything except a phone and a computer.
Moreover, everything that is in that computer exists in the Agency's system because it is linked to it. They took documents that they had already confiscated once and that already exist because they have an electronic archive - Martinović pointed out.
Perović was arrested around 1:30 pm on the order of the SDT, and SPO officers brought her to their premises for questioning after the search at the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, which began this morning around 10 am.
After searching the office and the official vehicle, by order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office, the officers of the Special Police Department deprived J.P., the director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, of her freedom, due to the grounds of suspicion that she had committed a prolonged criminal offense of abuse of office - announced earlier the spokesman and prosecutor of SDT Vukas Radonjić.
The police, he added, are searching her apartment and other premises in order to find other traces and objects of the criminal act.
Perović will be questioned in the SDT, and the date of the hearing is awaited.
Marković took over the case
Supreme State Prosecutor Milorad Marković took over this case.
In order to truthfully inform the interested public, and regarding media reports and statements of other social actors, we inform you that the chief special prosecutor has not acted in any sense, nor will he act in the case formed against J.P., the director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, and for the reason that, after the creation of the case, at his request, the supreme state prosecutor took over to immediately exercise all powers and take all actions for which the chief special prosecutor is authorized by law, and all in accordance with Article 133 of the Law on the State Prosecutor's Office - reported the SDT.
