Minister of Interior Danilo Šaranović said that during the transport to KCCG, suspect of multiple murders in Cetinje Aco Martinović died.
He said that the police operation in search of Martinović was successfully carried out.
Šaranović stated that Martinović attempted suicide but did not die on the spot.
Acting Director of the Police Administration Lazar Šćepanović said that Martinović was located in the Humci settlement, and that he died from a head wound.
He said that the motive for the murder is unknown, and that the victims were his friends and godparents.
Šćepanović said that the information that 12 people were killed in Cetinje should be taken with a grain of salt and that the number of victims should not be auctioned.
He said that they received information from the family of the suspected murderer that Martinović was a socially deviant person.
There should not be more victims, he said.
Minister Šaranović said that he would take strong measures.
"Be sure that the Government of Montenegro will present a plan of urgent measures starting tomorrow, because we as a society must not allow individuals to deprive not only other people, but also their family members of their lives in such a brutal way," he said.
He said that there is no room to draw a target for anyone who is not guilty, but that every police officer should be recognized for sacrificing their lives every day.
"I think we have sent a message that we are ready to learn from the mistakes of our predecessors... This tragedy is holding us all back and we should show an additional dose of caution and respect for the victims," he added.
