Media center: There was no professional reason for the interview with Knežević, TVCG should reveal to the public what motivated them to do it

AUTHOR: M.J.
Television of Montenegro, the national public broadcaster, has unannounced started publishing a series of exclusive interviews with those accused of serious crimes, the Media Center said.
- We say series because we think it is illogical to exclusively interview only the accused businessman Duško Knežević, and leave out many other accused who could share something exclusively with the audience of national public television - they stated in the announcement.
They are sure, as they say, that nothing will come of such a series, so, they judge, it is even more intriguing that the detainee Knežević tasked the nation with having TVCG visit him in Spuz and chat with him.
- This interview would perhaps make sense from a professional point of view if the accused Knežević offered something more than the stale stories he has been littering the Montenegrin media space for a long time. This way, it turned out that the national public television served for the exclusive media promotion of one defendant and indirectly suggested to the audience that he is someone who deserves special attention and sympathy - said the Media Center.
They also add that there was no visible professional reason for this exclusive interview, and that the editorial staff of TVCG should make an effort to reveal to the public what motivated them to do this.
- Actually, it is more correct to ask who persuaded them to this professionally unaccountable pretension, by which they once again showed that they are more amenable to the thought and will of their political mentors than to the will of the public and its right to know. Unprofessional outbursts, such as this interviewing of the accused Knežević, not only detract from the spirit of the adopted program production plan of RTCG for this year, but also herald further tabloidization of national public television in response to the problematic law that will allow it to publish commercials in prime time from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. . The more exclusive interviews of this type with the accused Knežević, the more attractive TVCG will be to advertisers, but, unfortunately, it will look less and less like a true public media service for the citizens of Montenegro - the Media Center concluded.
