Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović signed decrees on the appointment of the Ambassador of Montenegro to NATO, Milena Kalezić, the Ambassador of Montenegro to the United Nations, Dragana Radulović, and the Ambassador of Montenegro to the Republic of Austria, Stanica Anđić, the press office announced.

"On that occasion, the President of Montenegro spoke with the newly appointed ambassadors, and expressed his belief that his engagement will contribute to strengthening the international position of Montenegro.

He expressed satisfaction with the appointment of ambassadors to NATO and the UN, bearing in mind that Montenegro has not had ambassadors in these strategically important organizations for a long time, especially in light of the current geopolitical challenges," the statement said.

He also, they added, pointed out the importance of appointing an ambassador to the Republic of Austria who, on a non-residential basis, also covers the Czech Republic and Slovakia, with the expectation that this appointment will significantly contribute to strengthening bilateral relations with these countries.

"President Milatović recalled the key foreign policy priorities of Montenegro and expressed the expectation that the newly appointed ambassadors will actively work to strengthen cooperation and affirm the interests of our country.

The ambassadors thanked President Milatović for the trust shown, emphasizing that it is an honor for them to represent Montenegro at these important international addresses, and emphasized that they will work dedicatedly to improving cooperation and promoting Montenegro's foreign policy goals.

These appointments continue the ongoing strengthening of the diplomatic network, in which the President will continue to make a significant contribution," the statement concluded.
