Milatović: EC Non-paper important warning, Government to change practice

Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović said that the European Commission's non-paper is an important warning, which the Government should take seriously and change the practice, which is very well argued, and which concerns certain segments from Chapters 23 and 24.

According to him, the European Commission's non-paper, which concerns Montenegro's progress in the areas of the rule of law, is an important warning coming from the European Union (EU) at, as he states, a crucial moment in Montenegro's European integration process.

"I would like, first of all, the Government to take that warning very seriously and to change the practice, which is very well argued in that non-paper, and which concerns certain segments from Chapters 23 and 24," Milatović emphasized, answering a journalist's question.

He believes that the sooner the practice needs to change and the sooner true European standards begin to be applied in certain segments in the area of ​​the rule of law, the faster the European path will be.

"There is a formula given, and it is up to us to apply it," added Milatović.
