The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, is participating in Sofia at the leaders' meeting within the Akaba Process: Balkan III, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, and the King of Jordan, Abdullah II.
"The meeting in Sofia, co-chaired by Bulgaria and Jordan, gathers heads of state and government, as well as representatives of international organizations, the non-governmental sector, and security institutions to discuss the security environment, challenges, and cooperation, with a special focus on the Balkan region," announced Milatović’s cabinet.
The Akaba Process, they added, was initiated in 2015 by King Abdullah II of Jordan and represents an important platform for contributing to the international community's joint efforts in the fight against terrorism and extremism.
"The meeting in Sofia is a continuation of previous regional Akaba Process meetings dedicated to the Balkans—held in 2016 in Aqaba and 2018 in Tirana—and represents an important step in strengthening the collective response to modern security threats," the statement concludes.
