Mugoša: In the sea of fighting, the essential problems of the citizens are being bypassed

On the occasion of information in the media that fuel, meat and milk are more expensive in Montenegro than in Croatia, Boris Mugoša, the vice-president and deputy of the SD, reacted.
He pointed to several data which, according to the SD, speak of a very complex socio-economic situation in Montenegro, namely that: 61 thousand citizens receive the minimum wage, and between 15 and 20 thousand citizens receive an amount below the minimum wage ; over 40 thousand beneficiaries are the lowest pensioners; 6,350 families (with over 20,000 members) are beneficiaries of the material security of families; 45 thousand are unemployed, while a significant number of citizens work illegally; the value of the minimum consumer basket (without imputed rent) has exceeded 800 euros and is 130 euros higher than a year ago; inflation in Montenegro is higher than the inflation of 17 out of 20 Eurozone member states and almost twice as high as the average in the Eurozone countries and others.
The vice-chairman of the SD reminds that their amendment was adopted, which defines the measures by which the Government can temporarily limit the price of products of special importance for the life and health of people and the category of products to which this limitation applies.
Measures to limit product prices are: setting the highest price level, lowering prices to a certain level, regulating the margin, etc. Also, the amendment defines that products of special importance for people's life and health refer to food items, personal hygiene products, baby food and equipment, means for heating, household chemicals, etc. Unfortunately, in the sea of daily political topics and fights, the essential problems of a significant number of citizens of Montenegro are being bypassed, said Mugoša.
