Nikolić: The pro-Russian DF has the main say in the government, that's why NATO support is falling

AUTHOR: M.J.
This parliamentary majority, as well as the two that preceded it, from 2020 until today, tends to push Montenegro as far as possible from the European Union, even though their mouths are full of talk about Europe - assessed the spokesman of the Democratic Party of Socialists, Miloš Nikolić.
The most recent incident at the POSP session in Strasbourg, when all the members of the government voted against European policy and the strategic goals of the state, showed, as he stated, what the ruling majority's policy really is.
The fact that not a single MP from the body of ruling parties was allowed to vote against the proposal put forward by MP Milana Knežević, which calls into question the sanctions against Russia due to the attack on Ukraine and Montenegro's commitment to its obligations as a member of NATO, shows that the policy of the former DF is the one followed by the parliamentary majority - said Nikolić.
The consequence of such an anti-Western, pro-Russian policy, hidden behind a false advocacy for Europe, has led, according to him, to the fact that this year, citizens' support for the NATO alliance is 12 percent lower than last year.
All these facts indicate that the dominant policy in the government is the one represented by the parties of the former Democratic Front, which institutionally occupied positions in all structures. All the other political subjects in the government are just decorations for that backward policy, which they showed in Strasbourg - concluded Nikolić.
