The intervention unit of the police from Podgorica, which was assisting the Nikšić colleagues in securing the final pre-election rallies on Friday, April 11, after the forum of the coalition "For the Future of Nikšić" (formerly the Democratic Front) in Grahovo, caused a serious incident when one of the police officers attacked an inspector from Nikšić, and then, when he was called to the Nikšić police to explain the circumstances of the incident, the entire unit violently broke into the office of the chief of the Security Center.
This information was confirmed to the ETV portal by several sources from the Nikšić police, who are outraged by the behavior of their colleagues from Podgorica.
- For reasons known only to them, they prevented the passage of a vehicle carrying inspectors from Nikšić, Radovan Lalić and Novica Jovović, who were in the escort that accompanied the protected figures who participated in the rally, at Grahovo. Then, the commander of the Central Police Station, Marko Stojanović, got out of the Interventna van and tried to hit Lalić. Witnesses claim that he was drunk, but the serious incident was prevented by other police officers – sources claim.
The Nikšić inspectors immediately informed their superiors about the attack by their colleagues from Podgorica, so the Podgorica residents were invited to give a statement at the Nikšić police station, but they also caused a serious incident there.
- This apparently angered them, and they were all under the influence of alcohol, so they forced their way into the office of Chief Darko Radusinović and caused chaos. They behaved in an indecent manner, outside all rules of police ethics and codes, and were extremely arrogant. They refused to take a breathalyzer test – say the portal’s interlocutors from the Nikšić police.
They also claim that the situation was so tense and threatened to get out of control, that on Friday evening, the head of the Podgorica police, Goran Jokić, came to the Nikšić police station to try to calm the tensions and persuade his Nikšić colleagues not to “make a fuss” and not insist that his men be punished.
Sources from the ETV portal say that an official note was made, but, allegedly, it was not processed further, nor was the incident recorded in the Bulletin.
