The police today arrested Silvija Babović, an employee of the Labor Fund, based on a report by the director of that institution, Ana Mrdović, in which she stated that Babović had threatened her in her office, holding a gun in her hand.
The Police Directorate explained that officers from the Podgorica Security Department acted on a report filed by the director of the Labor Fund.
The statement specifies that Mrdović stated in her report that while she was at work, in her office, S.B. (52), also an employee of the Fund, holding a gun in her hand, threatened her, her child's life, and other employees in the building.
"Taking measures and actions in accordance with the Law, in coordination with the prosecutor on duty, a house search was carried out, as well as an inspection of the vehicle and office used by S.B., and no illegal items were found on that occasion. After conducting a criminal investigation and collecting information, the prosecutor on duty at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was notified of the event, who stated that the described actions do not constitute a criminal offense," the statement said.
Due to suspicion that she committed a misdemeanor under Article 8 of the Law on Public Order and Peace, S.B. was deprived of her liberty and will be brought before a misdemeanor judge today, the UP announced.
