The Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia, Gordan Grlić Radman, recently said that the aggression against Dubrovnik was carried out by the Montenegrin side, so a resolution condemning it and all the crimes committed would be a good gesture towards Croatia.
Historian Adnan Prekić commented for Antena M whether Montenegro should adopt the Resolution on Dubrovnik.
"I am not sure that the current parliamentary majority is aware of the need to face the past and have a critical attitude towards one of the darkest pages of contemporary Montenegrin history," Prekić told us.
Prekić says that this government has confirmed on several occasions that it inherits, nurtures and affirms the political ideas that were the driving force for Montenegro's participation in the Dubrovnik theater.
"I would not rule out the possibility that perhaps under international pressure or some other type of pressure we will reach a resolution that would be presented as a condition for further progress on the European path," says Prekić.
"Therefore, I think that the more realistic option, if we reach that situation, is to adopt such a resolution that would be a kind of trade or political compromise, and not the essential need of Montenegrin society to critically approach episodes from the past, especially the darkest ones such as Montenegro's participation in the operations in Dubrovnik," says Prekić.
