The Speaker of the Parliament Andrija Mandić fought convulsively to ensure that Montenegro as a state does not exist, and now he is part of the government and is doing everything to devalue all of Montenegro's major achievements, said Nikola Rakočević, a member of the Presidency and DPS MP, on Drugačija radio.
Rakočević stated that there were three key goals for appointing Mandić as the head of parliament.
"The first is to relativize his policies in the past, the second is to normalize his policies, and the third motive is for that policy to strengthen and win in Montenegro. In order to prevent that, we have to deal with it politically," Rakočević emphasizes.
In the West, he says, prime ministers have resigned when one of their members appears half-drunk, let alone when a family member, whom he previously appointed as the head of security, is prosecuted.
"As for our expectations, they are not high, but that does not mean that our responsibility does not have to be up to par. We had to ask the parliamentary majority whether they really support Mandić, but I do not expect that the majority will vote to dismiss Mandić," Rakočević said.
He emphasizes, however, that he is sure that minority parties will support Mandić's dismissal.
"That would not be enough. It would be enough if PES supported the initiative."
When asked whether the DPS initiative could be influenced by the geopolitical moment in the final, more precisely the departure of Aleksandar Vučić and the head of the Church of Serbia Porfirije to Moscow and that it is increasingly difficult for Brussels to keep quiet about it, but also by the obvious dependence of the Montenegrin authorities on the regime in Belgrade and the Serbian Church, Rakočević said:
"This context makes this initiative timely. We need to see how things will develop, it is certain that the DF, and they do not hide it, is in the role of a branch of the SNS. All those who are with them provide them with logistics, I mean the PES, and this initiative is important so that our international partners can see which side Milojko Spajić is on, and I am afraid that the power grab is more important to him than Montenegro".
Rakočević states that it is indicative that Spajić sought to meet with someone from the American administration in the US and that he did not succeed.
"That's a message and I hope that those messages will be more frequent as long as he is in alliance with those who are doing everything to destroy the interests of the collective West in Montenegro. He could deceive Western representatives for a while, but I think that the circle is tightening and it is clear that Spajić's partners in power are a political outpost of Putin's policy." Rakočević says that it is clear that analysts believe that the West does not want to introduce political instability in order for Montenegro to meet the conditions for joining the EU by 2026. However, the Antena M guest points out, the top Serbian officials are clearly saying that no country will be part of the EU before Serbia, which is a sufficient indicator of intentions towards Montenegro. "The question arises whether the regime in Belgrade will allow Montenegro to meet the criteria and join the EU, for their servants to take that historic step, and create a problem for them. It is clear that Belgrade will not allow that," Rakočević said. When asked whether PES and minority parties have the will and strength to understand the new circumstances, Rakočević said:
"Minority parties have an ear. They are still part of the parliamentary majority, and they show a higher level of responsibility towards national interests even in government than PES does. One part of PES listens blindly, the part that is more DF than DF. The other part of PES is the one that sees the danger Montenegro is in. The question arises whether that part is strong enough or whether they are putting their personal interests ahead of the interests of the state," said Rakočević.
The tourist season is approaching, but, it seems, it has never been worse prepared. Rakočević estimates that intensive work has been done to destroy Montenegrin tourism for five years, starting with the closure of the airline Montenegro Airlines.
"This is the fifth year now and they are working to make Montenegro meaningless. The economy is the most important topic, and for five years they have been working to destroy tourism. Air accessibility has been destroyed, it is impossible to get to Montenegro. After 2025, the question is whether there will be new debt or we will have to turn to - we will see who, to sell our national treasure, for example, the Port of Bar and the Electric Power Industry," warns Rakočević.
