SDP: Milatović, a representative of the clero-nationalist wave, resist the political structures behind him

The presidential elections on April 2 are a significant political moment that will direct the strategic direction in which the state of Montenegro will move, announced today from the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
In presidential elections, we choose between candidates with whom we have differences, but the political reality is such that these candidates received the most votes of the citizens of Montenegro. In these elections, the primary choice is not the candidate, but the future direction of development, policy, programmatic and value principles that the candidates represent, and it should be especially taken into account that all the forces and individuals support one of the candidates - they pointed out in the announcement.
SDP, as they said, cannot possibly support the candidate Jakov Milatović who, they emphasize, is a representative of the clero-nationalist wave from August 30, 2020.
We do not believe that a politician who is under the patronage of the church, who is openly supported by another state and who, as Krivikapić's minister, supported changes in some of the fundamental state-building policies, a candidate backed by extremists like Šešelj, Raković and the like, can be genuine and sincere representative of civil, Europe-oriented Montenegro. A candidate who sows hatred by calling the SDP, its members and voters fascists cannot have support, just because they point out his mistakes - the SDP said.
They note that the differences of the SDP in relation to the DPS candidate, as well as the mistakes and bad policies they made, are clear and repeatedly announced.
With all these differences, in the choice between these two political platforms, our determination is that the winner in the elections on April 2nd will be Mr. Đukanović - they underlined.
According to them, the defeat of those political structures behind Milatović is necessary in order for Montenegro to preserve its pro-Western orientation and essential independence and continue to develop as a modern, secular, civil and developed society.
In accordance with such determination, in order to defeat those structures that stand behind Mr. Milatović, we invite our voters to support the candidate Đukanović - SDP said.
