The governments of Montenegro and the United Arab Emirates have signed agreements on economic cooperation and joint investments at a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi, as reported by RTCG.
The agreements were signed by Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and the Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in the presence of President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
"Montenegro needs investments from credible companies that have decades of successful large projects, and for which the most reputable countries in the world are willing to provide guarantees. The economic cooperation agreement creates a foundation for expanding areas of cooperation, which will result in increased investments in Montenegro. The tourism cooperation agreement lays the groundwork for projects that will rapidly accelerate economic growth, create new jobs, and improve the standard and quality of life, distributing benefits evenly – from the south to the north of the country. That’s why I emphasize the provision of the agreement that foresees the development of projects in different regions of Montenegro for the first time in history, taking into account the balanced development of our country," stated Prime Minister Spajić after the signing, according to the RTCG portal.
Prime Minister Spajić also mentioned that this is a huge opportunity for Montenegro to accelerate economic development, bringing much higher salaries, pensions, and other benefits for all citizens.
"By signing two important intergovernmental agreements with the UAE, Montenegro gets an excellent opportunity for a strong investment boost, the creation of new jobs, and balanced development – from south to north. This is a big step toward economic growth and an opportunity to leverage the potential for projects that will raise the quality of life for citizens throughout Montenegro," Spajić said on X (formerly Twitter).
