Prime Minister Milojko Spajić said that the budget for next year, which the Government adopted at today's session, is of high quality and a reflection of responsibility towards what was promised to the citizens, and on the other hand, fiscal sustainability.
We refute the announcements of individuals that we will finance measures from various programs from debt, or by increasing the VAT rate, by selling EPCG, with a budget that is fiscally responsible and sustainable. We will have a surplus of the current budget, precisely because of this no part of the current budget will be financed from debt. Borrowings will be used exclusively either for the capital budget, or to repay the old loan - Spajić said at the press conference where the budget for the next year was presented.
He pointed out that the standard of pensioners is being improved by increasing the minimum pension to 450 euros.
Spajić pointed out that the budget for 2024 starts a strong investment cycle. He asked the local governments to prepare for the implementation of the projects. He told the local governments that they must provide mature projects.
We are ready to add new projects by rebalancing when the projects are mature. I call on all citizens to put maximum pressure on local self-governments, and local self-governments to commit themselves - said Spajić.
According to him, they are speeding up the procedure as much as possible and next year they will start with the continuation of the construction of the highway.
It is in the capital budget and 80-90 million euros have been allocated for that item - emphasized Spajić.
He expects the fiscal strategy to be adopted early next year.
We will have a fiscal strategy that will reflect a responsible and domestic attitude towards the public good - said Spajić.
"No euro for minimum pensions will come from debt"
Spajić said that not a single euro for minimum pensions will come from debt and, as he said, false stories about the sale of EPCG, nor from an increase in the general rate of VAT.
Despite this, we have a minimum pension of 450 euros - said Spajić, saying that the promised will be fulfilled.
The head of the Prime Minister's Cabinet, Branko Krvavac, said that no euro of debt will be used for policies from the "Europe Now 2" Program.
