After a visual was published on the European Commission’s website showing a tricolor instead of the official Montenegrin flag, young entrepreneur Đorđe Stojović issued a statement.
His response was reported by the portal Analitika.
Read it below:
“The interview I gave as part of the European Commission’s ‘33 under 33’ project, implemented in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, I gave with the desire and intention to promote the values of youth development in the economy, the national brand, and domestic production – which is, after all, the main goal of the company Montenegrina Capital Investment, as well as the Montenegrina brand.
Unfortunately, the interview and the accompanying visuals were not sent to me for authorization, and because of that, I was denied the opportunity to point out the mistake that occurred regarding the Montenegrin coat of arms. Like the wider public, I too was unpleasantly surprised by this oversight, and I sincerely hope it will be corrected soon.
My relationship with the Montenegrin flag and coat of arms is best reflected precisely through years of work on creating the national brand, as well as affirming domestic production, national identity, and the cultural heritage of Montenegro.
In the end, I regret that such oversights have drawn attention away from the essence of the interview, which aimed to promote positive examples and values that we are building together.”
