The President of the Handball Association of Montenegro (RSCG), Petar Kapisoda, this morning sent a request to the Airports of Montenegro to create the preconditions for the plane from Ljubljana with Montenegrin fans to land at the Podgorica airport at midnight, i.e. after the last matches of the European Handball Championship. However, his request remained unanswered. On the other hand, the Minister of Capital Investments, Ervin Ibrahimović, expects that he will be able to reach an agreement with the airport management to allow a late charter flight and thus allow our fans to see off the finish line of the European Championship.
The airports of Montenegro do not allow the charter flight, which one of the sponsors of the Handball Association of Montenegro provided for the Montenegrin fans, to land tonight after 11 pm because, as they said, that is the last allowed time for planes to land at the airport in the capital.
Because of this, Kapisoda turned to the Airport management, trying to reach an agreement, but there is no reaction from the other side yet.
Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to you on behalf of the Handball Association of Montenegro regarding the issue related to the return of the plane with fans of our national team, which arrived in Ljubljana today. As you know, there are fans on that flight who will support our national team in the decisive match against France, for the bronze medal at the European Championship. The support of the fans is extremely important to us, which is why the mentioned gesture of the company that is the sponsor of the Association, and which provided the mentioned charter - is highly respected. As we have just been informed that there is still a problem related to the landing of the plane on the way back to Podgorica airport, I hereby kindly ask you to make additional efforts and create the preconditions for the plane to return to Podgorica tonight, i.e. to land at the time announced to you - stated Kapisoda in his address.
He pointed out that the scheduled time of departure from Ljubljana, based on the information received by the RSCG from the company Trade Air, is at 11 p.m., and the arrival at the Podgorica airport is expected at midnight.
In the hope that our request will be respected, I send you a warm greeting on behalf of the Alliance and myself - concluded Kapisoda in his address.
Aerodomi did not even listen to the request of the representative of the company that organizes the charter, which on several occasions gave guarantees to cover the additional costs caused by the late landing of the plane at the airport in Podgorica. The lessee of the flight was told that they are not able to extend the working hours of the Airport and that he should adjust to the flight schedule valid for November 20.
All eyes are now on the Minister of Capital Investments, Ervin Ibrahimović, who yesterday was called by the Minister of the Interior, Filip Adžić, to react and facilitate the return of the plane with Montenegro fans from Ljubljana.
Ibrahimović is optimistic that he will succeed in this.
I hope that we will succeed in enabling the landing of a charter flight with our fans from Ljubljana to Podgorica - Ibrahimović said briefly for the Pobjeda portal.
The Handball Association of Montenegro states in its appeals that the Airports of Montenegro make additional efforts and enable as many fans as possible to support the "lionesses" in the fight for the bronze medal.
Let us remind you that the management of the Airport of Montenegro is close to the pro-Serbian and pro-Russian authorities in Montenegro, which consists of the Democratic Front, the Democrats and the Citizens' Movement URA.
