Vuković: The assembly was not held because of the events in Budva

AUTHOR: M.J.
The assembly was not held, because there was allegedly no agreement on the agenda, but it is obvious that the reason for the events in Budva is because this news appeared just before the planned session - said the representative of the Democratic Party of Socialists Ivan Vuković at a press conference in the parliament hall.

After it was announced that the scheduled session of the Assembly would be postponed until tomorrow, he said that the holder of the "Budva - our city" list, Nikola Jovanović, had recently established that intimidation was being carried out in that coastal city by people close to the New Serbian Democracy.

- That's the atmosphere in Budva after we heard yesterday from the heads of the prosecution that our country is successfully fighting crime and corruption. Tear gas was thrown in Ulcinj, today news like this is coming from Budva. All this is happening in the context of the story about the European integration of Montenegro - said Vuković.

According to him, people in Budva are upset.

- We received several calls ourselves. We continuously say that Budva is in a permanent state of emergency. In this way, the story of EU integration is completely meaningless. When news like this goes out into the world, opinions are raised about what will be thought by those who will decide in June whether Montenegro deserves IBAR - said Vuković.

In Budva, as he adds, apparently nothing has been resolved yet.

- We call on the competent authorities to start doing their work and, as far as it is today, to take actions to protect the constitutional order in this country and to restore the security that they obviously do not have now to the people of Budva. It doesn't go on like this. This is a drop in the bucket. Such a majority cannot fulfill the European goal. We cannot allow someone to terrorize the citizens of Budva - concluded Vuković.
