The Social Democrats of Montenegro are asking the President of the Parliament, Andrij Mandić, to resign, after his bodyguard and nephew Danilo Mandić, as is suspected, raped two fellow citizens, having previously blocked their way with a vehicle of the Parliament of Montenegro. SD MP Nikola Zirojević told Antena M that "the fact that this is a person who has been convicted several times before and who was appointed to be the bodyguard of the head of the parliament after all this, is something that adds additional problems to the situation".
"I think that here, given that the situation is the way it is, that it is about the closest people and a person who the whole public knew was previously convicted, his uncle and the president of the parliament must have known that this is already the direct responsibility of Andrija Mandić as the president, who allowed such a person to exist at all," said his body, the owner of the parliament, that the weapon is carried by the official of his parliament, that the official of his parliament uses it. for Antena M.
In addition, he believes, it is problematic that that person used a vehicle at three or four in the morning, presumably the escort of the President of the Parliament.
"These are the vehicles that they, I'm not sure if the public is aware of, that they are vehicles that were seized in some police operations. Will they have to be returned at some point... Well, today our president drives around in vehicles that were seized, it seems to me mostly by criminal clans, because these parliaments where there were good vehicles before, look good enough.
So, I think that this is still the responsibility of Andrija Mandić as the president of the parliament, of course also the personal responsibility of his nephew, but as far as I'm concerned, there is no doubt that the least the president of the parliament could do in this situation is to resign. It is very certain that we will ask him to do that, Zirojević ordered.
He also states that in principle, the people who provide protection to protected persons should be determined by the Police Directorate, i.e. the Sector for the Protection of Persons and Objects within the Police Directorate.
"However, the police have always exposed themselves to these highest state officials so that they can somehow make a selection of these persons, i.e. to choose the officer who suits them, because in principle sometimes an officer does not suit a protected person, and sometimes it happens that a protected person does not suit an officer. So the administration showed broadmindedness on the part of good leadership.
However, there is no information whether Danilo Mandić is a member of the Police Directorate.
"I think it would be scandalous for a person with a record like Danilo Mandić's to be a member of the Police Directorate. So, if he was hired through the Police Directorate, then we have a serious problem as to how such a person is employed or remained in the Police Directorate. I assume he was employed, I do not believe that he was in the period when the member of the criminal group was in the police," says Zirojević.
There is no information, he points out, that Mandić was an officer of the Police Directorate at that time.
"If he went through the Police Directorate, then the question remains as to who hired him in that way. Andrija Mandić could not have done that. It had to be done by someone from the Police Directorate or the Ministry of Internal Affairs. If this license is not from a member of the Police Directorate, then the question arises as to how to license the Speaker of Parliament, because that would exclude the team that the Speaker of Parliament had to have, which had to be made up of members of the Police Directorate," Zirojević concludes.
