Đurović: Because of the European path, we should avoid adopting a Resolution that no one on the planet has adopted

The resolution that no one anywhere on the planet has adopted, and Montenegro is planning to adopt, could be problematic for Montenegro's path to the EU, Gordana Đurović, former Minister of European Affairs, assessed.

- We are all aware of that, I think we should try to avoid it, so that it doesn't happen. Until now, apart from our own problem regarding the rule of law, Montenegro has never been blocked as far as bilateral relations are concerned. Now, potentially risking a member blocking us, that is working against the public interest and the citizens of Montenegro, Đurović said on the Public Service.

As he says, our political actors are "breaking" over something that is not part of the legal acquis.

Đurović says that her appeal remains the same and that she thinks that everyone should make an effort so that Montenegro receives a positive opinion for the rule of law and unlocks the process.

- However, if you say that you will have IBAR, then adopt some problematic resolution there, then we have an extremely serious risk. We should not underestimate the voices from Croatia, which are an attack on our European enthusiasm. We have to reconsider, we shouldn't promise anything after IBAR, said Đurović.
