Šehović: I am not sure that we can agree on everything by November 30; Džeka: Nothing has been specified

The meeting of Prime Minister Milojko Spajić with representatives of the opposition, the ministries of finance and human and minority rights, the civil sector, the council of less numerous peoples, and the Directorate of Statistics has just ended, and the topic was the population census.
The Minister of Human and Minority Rights, Fatmir Đeka, said that different ideas were presented at the meeting in order to reach a consensus.
The Prime Minister initiated this and is leading a broader consensus to reach a solution that is acceptable to all. Everyone gave some ideas. It is important to work together and reach an agreement - said Đeka.
He adds that nothing has been finalized yet.
Everything is on the table, we will continue in the following days - he said.
The leader of the opposition SD, Damir Šehović, said that dialogue should be affirmed at this level until an agreement is reached.
There were issues on which we reached agreement, but not on key issues. We believe that an agreement and lowering of tensions is more important than the date. The list should be when we agree on the control mechanisms - said Šehović.
He believes, as he says, that he will deal with these issues in the coming period.
The opposition insists on the conditions that the opposition had in 2011. We insist that the software is not subject to abuse. An agreement was not reached today, but it is good that we took the first step and everyone sat down - said Šehović.
He said that insisting on the list at any cost only moves away from the agreement.
He repeated that the essence is not in the date but in the control mechanisms.
I am not sure that we can agree on everything by November 30. The list can be postponed as it has been postponed now. We extended our hand, it is up to the prime minister to accept it - concludes Šehović.
He adds that the goal is a credible census and that he will continue the boycott if valid control mechanisms are not established.
Šehović says that he believes that the intention to reach an agreement exists.
The date of the census still narrows the space for us to talk, but we will not give up. If there is no agreement by November 30, I see no reason not to postpone the census again - he said.
On behalf of the Bosniak Council in Montenegro, Suljo Mustafić said that he welcomes the Prime Minister's efforts to open a dialogue.
I would like to share the optimism from today's meeting. The number of disputed questions can be reduced to just a few questions. There is still work to be done on enumerators. I believe that in the coming period we will reduce the number of open piranhas and we will reach a solution - he stated.
He adds that he is a supporter of dialogue from the very beginning.
It is important for us that people who are temporarily absent during the census period are in Montenegro. Today, we showed a fair level of constructiveness and compliance with requests. We really want the list and we don't want to obstruct this process - said Mustafić.
He adds that the dates can be discussed when all the details are agreed upon.
They accepted, as he says, that if an agreement is reached, a document would be drawn up by which the participants of the meeting would sign and accept the list.
Mustafić says that he is not sure that it is possible to design a software solution before the start of the census.
The Government has the greatest responsibility and I believe that an agreement will be reached in this way and with these discussions - he concluded.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development Nik Đeljošaj and Minister of Human and Minority Rights, Fatmir Đeka.
The meeting in the Government building was attended by Jevto Eraković (DPS) and Damir Šehović (SD) from the representatives of the opposition.
Among the representatives of the ruling majority at the meeting were Zdenka Popović (Democratic Montenegro) and Vasilije Čarapić (Movement Europe Now), who left the meeting due to other commitments, as well as Dejan Vukić (Socialist People's Party).
Suljo Mustafić from the Bosniak Council in Montenegro, Zvonimir Deković from the Croatian National Council and Mensur Šalaj from the Roma Council were also at the meeting.
Sabrija Vulić from the Council of Muslims was present but soon left the meeting.
Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) were attended by Damir Nikočević (Center for Civic Education), Ivana Vojvodić (Juventas), Marina Vujačić (Association of Disabled Youth of Montenegro), Igor Milošević (ADP Zid) and Elvis Beriša (NGO Step with us).
