At today’s ceremonial session of the Municipal Assembly of Andrijevica, on the occasion of July 17th, the Day of the Municipality of Andrijevica, the President of the local parliament, Vesko Raketić, gave a scandalous speech, according to the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) of Andrijevica.
"Raketić, in his ceremonial address, said that those who shout ‘E viva Montenegro’ in Cetinje will never return to power, because they are fascists and Montenegrins (‘montenegrini’), and along the way, he also spoke disparagingly about the national anthem, of which only the instrumental part was heard at the session," the DPS stated.
To make the scandal even greater, they added, the session was attended by ministers from the current Government, as well as the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović.
"All of them remained silent in the face of Raketić's shameless speech. Ultimately, it is no surprise that the self-proclaimed civic and European parties, such as PES—which is part of the local government in Andrijevica—kept silent about Raketić’s distorted views. Finally, if Raketić had an ounce of political dignity, after today’s disgraceful outburst, he wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to resign, because he is being paid by the very citizens he targeted by calling them ‘montenegrins’ and ‘fascists’, in a state whose anthem he refuses to recognize," concluded the DPS of Andrijevica.
