Pristina signs agreement with US military

A Cooperation Agreement on Interoperability and Security of Communications (CISMOA) has been signed between the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) and the J6 Department of the US European Command (EUCOM).

The acting Minister of Defense of the so-called Kosovo, Ejup Macedonci, wrote on Facebook that the agreement represents a "strategic step of particular importance" because, according to him, it enables the exchange of secure information, as well as the use of advanced defense technology by the KSF, in accordance with the standards of international partners.

"Relations with strategic allies remain the foundation for the development of our defense capabilities. This agreement is of particular importance because it enables the exchange of secure, cryptographic information and the use of advanced defense technology by the KSF," Macedonci wrote.

He added that the KSF's relations with strategic allies are important for the strengthening and development of these forces and that accordingly, the US European Command (EUCOM) "will continue to play a key role in strengthening the defense capabilities" of Kosovo.
