A small plane crashed into a residential area of San Diego, hitting several homes. The fire has engulfed about 15 homes and several vehicles, and residents of several streets have been evacuated from their homes.
“There’s jet fuel everywhere,” Assistant Fire Chief Dan Eddy told reporters.
Eddy said firefighters’ goal is to search all of those homes and get everyone out immediately.
He noted that there were “direct hits on multiple homes” and described the scene as “a huge field of rubble.”
Eddy reiterated that he did not know the exact number of victims at this time, but that it was accurate to say that “there are multiple deaths.”
