Sibiga: Russia completely ignores ceasefire offer and continues attacks

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga spoke out after talks with European colleagues gathered in London, stressing that “Russia completely ignores the offer for a complete and permanent ceasefire” and that it “continues attacks along the entire front line”.

“Moscow has once again squandered the opportunity to stop the killing. This shows once again that Russia’s only goal is to prolong the war,” Sibiga said.

He added that Ukraine is making maximum efforts to end the war and give diplomacy a chance, recalling President Zelensky’s invitation to Putin to meet face-to-face, to which, he said, no response has yet been received.

During the London summit, which Sibiga attended online, the leaders discussed possible new sanctions against Russia’s banking sector, central bank and energy sector, as well as new packages of military aid to Ukraine.

"Putin must understand the consequences of rejecting peace initiatives and continuing the war," the Ukrainian minister concluded, thanking his partners for their continued support.
