The number of victims in Lebanon is increasing, Galant announces a new phase of the war

Fourteen people were killed and at least 450 injured in a walkie-talkie explosion across Lebanon, the Lebanese Ministry of Health said. After pagers and walkie-talkies, solar systems went into the air in some parts of the country.

As the Guardian reports, in addition to walkie-talkies and pagers the day before, several solar systems exploded in people's homes across Lebanon.

According to the national news agency there, at least one person was killed in the exposure of the solar systems. For now, it is known that a girl was killed in such an explosion in the city of al-Zahran, in the south of Lebanon. The first estimates are that there were 15 to 20 explosions in southern Beirut and probably more in the south of the country.

The explosions of the walkie-talkie devices happened yesterday, only a day after several simultaneous explosions of pagers belonging to Hezbollah members, in which 12 were killed and almost 2,800 were wounded.

Pagers programmed to explode

The hundreds of Hezbollah pagers that exploded in Lebanon on Tuesday were pre-programmed to do so, a Lebanese official told AFP. The pro-Iranian Hezbollah has accused Israel, but the country has not commented.

Preliminary results of the investigation showed that "the devices were programmed to explode and contained explosive materials placed next to the battery."

A source close to Hezbollah told AFP that "the pagers that exploded were part of a recently imported shipment" and appear to have been hacked where they were manufactured.

Israel's defense minister does not mention the explosions in Lebanon, but announces the beginning of a new phase of the war

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant announced the start of a new phase of the war as Israel focuses on the northern front against Hezbollah extremists in Lebanon.

Addressing Israeli soldiers, Galant did not mention the mysterious explosions of electronic devices in Lebanon in recent days, but praised the work of the military and security agencies, saying "the results are very impressive."

He said that after several months of war against the Hamas extremists in Gaza, "the center of gravity is shifting to the north by diverting resources and forces."

"We are at the beginning of a new phase in the war. It requires courage, determination and perseverance," said the Israeli minister, according to the Associated Press.
