Actors and Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra greet the audience with red fists

AUTHOR:M.J. GDNUS

After the premiere of the play "Saint George Slays the Dragon" at the Yugoslav Drama Theater on Friday evening, the actors appeared before the audience with their hands painted red, a symbol of protest after the collapse of a canopy at the Novi Sad Railway Station, when 15 people were killed and two more were seriously injured.

The audience greeted them with a standing ovation.

Also, members of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra ended last night's concert by addressing the audience and on that occasion supported the students and their demands, and raised their red fists.

In their speech, the members of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra told the students that they are "the bright future of Serbia".

"The Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra will always support the youth and their hunger for justice, truth and a better life. We fully agree with your demands and unreservedly support your courage and energy. As you know, we still see the wounds from the unfortunate incident of 'trampling' on our four colleagues, when we were peacefully paying our respects in front of our building on December 6", said the members of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra.
