Employees of the National Theatre in Belgrade and their colleagues from other theatre houses from all over Serbia gathered on Vidovdan to hug their house and in this way show that they love it and preserve its autonomy, as well as support the students.
The action "Let's hug the People" began earlier today with the arrival of employees from the National Theatre and their colleagues from other theatres.
At around 4pm, they held each other's hands and formed a circle around the National Theatre building.
The cries of "Pump, pump", "Serbia" were heard, and after this action, the citizens on Republic Square greeted them with thunderous applause.
Recently, the news that the Ministry of Culture decided to appoint Dragoslav Bokan as the President of the Board of Directors was heard in the public.
In addition to the fact that Dragoslav Bokan, according to the majority in the NP and the cultural public, does not deserve to be at the head of this institution of national importance, neither in terms of his professional competences nor his ethical views, the majority sees his appointment to the position of the NP Board of Directors as punishment and revenge by the authorities for the fact that theater workers stood by the students.
